HYDERABAD: Lack of educational facilities and improper syllabus in the government schools is the major reason of increasing extremism with diversion of the children towards negative trends in the society.

Chairperson of Green Works Foundation Ms.Fareeda Channa stated this while addressing a press conference at Press Club Hyderabad today.

She added that 72% Children of Pakistan are deprived from their fundamental rights as well as access of right of Education, leading much of the possibility of going their future to be destroyed.

She opined that the syllabus in the Government schools is not at par of the today’s needs, diverting the minds of innocent Children towards extremism and negative trends.

Green Works Foundation” believes on the standard of education. To get education is one of the fundamental rights of every Child of Pakistan but unfortunately due to major problems in Pakistan just like poverty, unemployment; law and order situation and expensive education deprived the most of the children from the right of Education”, she added.

Sharing the sorry state of education in the country, Chairperson of Green Works Foundation opined that though the it was basic right enshrined in the Article 25-A that free and compulsory education would be provided to every child up to the age of 16 years. She termed the unfortunate as the constitution was not implemented in this regard.

She also cited the huge amount of fees in the name of admissions; enrolment and examination were being collected schools and examination boards of Intermediate Secondary Education for deteriorating education system. Because of the negligence of Education Department our Education is going to be bad to worse day by day. Whole world is developed with providing education to each child but in this modern world we are not facilitated in education and other fundamental rights, she said, holding the responsible of increasing problems include law and order situation, extremism, tribal feuds, kidnappings for ransom, lack of empowerment and right to women, hike in the child marriages, honor Killings and other social evils owing of lack of education facilities to the people.

Ms.Channa emphasized on the implementation of the constitution for free and compulsory education to the children with all necessary facilities, saying that only Education can be surety of peace, justice and prosperity of Pakistan.

She said that Green Works Foundation has planned celebrating the 2014- the year of Education and Peace in the province of Sindh. Green Foundation is worry about the Education and will start the movement for education to create awareness among the people especially in the rural areas.

Ms.Fareeda Channa announced that Green Foundation will also establish the Green Model Schools voluntarily in which education will provided to poor children with all facilities, so that social violence and evil activities could be rooted out from the society.

She demanded for constituting the Committees comprising on civil society activists, educationists and others under the supervision of Judiciary for monitoring the education system and take measures to make functional the closed schools in the Sindh Province.
